Let’s find out why you may lose coverage
During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, all Medicaid members were able to stay enrolled, regardless of changes in eligibility or status. Now that renewals have resumed, you may have to take action to keep your coverage.
Maternity plans
Medicaid maternity plans cover you throughout your pregnancy and 12 months after you give birth. Luckily, you can reapply for Medicaid for parents and keep many of the same providers and benefits you’re used to.
Apply for Medicaid or CHIP
You may still be eligible even though your maternity benefits are ending. The only way to know for sure is to reapply. Follow these steps:
1 | Log in or register
Go to your state agency website.
2 | Apply
Fill out the application or update missing or incorrect information in your account. Contact Maryland Health Connection at 855-642-8572 for assistance.
3 | Get notified
You’ll receive a notice from the state to let you know if you’re re-enrolled.
Remember to apply before your maternity benefits expire so you don’t have a gap in coverage. If you still qualify, you’ll come back to your previous health plan. All set.
