Nothing is more important than keeping you and your family healthy. Wellpoint DC covers your standard Medicaid benefits like doctor visits, hospital stays, dental and vision care, and prescriptions. Qualifying enrollees also enjoy extra benefits to help with everyday life.
- Eligible enrollees aged 10–18 can receive a $75 gift card to buy feminine hygiene products like sanitary napkins, tampons, pain relievers and more.
- Baby and toddler essentials — pregnant or postpartum enrollees can select two items from a custom catalog, such as:
- Convertible car seat
- Portable crib
- Diapers for babies (two packs = 400 diapers)
- Safe sleep kit — Halo sleep sack, soothing pacifier, infant sleep guidelines, and education
- Baby monitor
- Highchair
- Booster seat
- Baby-proof items — plug protectors, doorknob covers, cabinet and drawer latches
- Potty-training seat
- Postpartum enrollees can receive one package of organic baby food: up to 12 pouches
- A gift card to cover the cost to take the GED® exam.
- Up to $50 for over-the-counter products for enrollees over 18
- Select up to two items from a custom asthma and COPD catalog for enrollees with asthma or COPD
- Fresh fruit and vegetable delivery for eligible enrollees
- Access to on demand fitness videos

How to enroll in Wellpoint DC
Apply for DC Medicaid benefits.
Enrollment in Medicaid is year-round. See if you’re eligible and apply online through the DC Health Link website.
Once you’re approved, you’ll be assigned to a health plan. After you start, you’ll have 90 days to change to a different plan.
Enroll in the Wellpoint DC health plan.
